To achieve our mission, we need an efficient and scalable technological infrastructure to retrieve data, run strategies and report on investments. Therefore, we are looking for additional resources to help us on this journey.

What can we offer you?
In the position as Financial Data Engineer you will be working full time in our Data & Technology department located at our office at Havnegade 23 in central Copenhagen. You will become part of a small but growing company with 14 employees from various backgrounds.
Qblue Balanced is an ambitious organization, where you will experience a steep learning curve, while working with experienced and highly skilled colleagues within areas such as programming, finance, operations, and marketing. You will of course be offered training on a continuous basis based on your individual skill-level and needs.

In your new role you will get various responsibilities such as:

• Developing new data structures and data flows
• Assisting with database design and SQL query optimization in PostgreSQL
• Take on programming tasks, such as investment strategy implementation, in Python
• Designing and developing our reporting platform
• Extracting and cleaning financial data
• Researching new technologies

You will be part of a young team, where it is highly encouraged to seek out new ideas and challenge the status quo. We are constantly looking to implement new best practices and have a particular focus on the learning and development opportunities of the team.

What are we looking for?
To succeed in the job, it is important that you have an interest in and flair for programming and data. You also enjoy working in small teams and consider yourself a hardworking, dedicated, and reliable colleague. Furthermore, you never shy away from a challenge and a new learning opportunity.

More specifically we imagine that you:

• Are in the beginning of your career, holding a relevant master’s degree with great academic results within a relevant field such as finance, statistics, engineering, or computer science
• Have some experience programming and are eager to become much more proficient
• Have experience, and enjoy, working with large and complex datasets
• Have at least a basic understanding of financial markets and are interested in learning more

Additionally, it will be considered an advantage, but not a requirement, if you:

• Have extended programming experience particularly in Python
• Have some experience working with databases and SQL
• Have experience with visualization of data
• Have experience with other technologies and platforms like AWS, Docker, or GIT
